Mind and Heart

What is Mind/Thought?
Mind is a series of stored memory. It is evolving every single day in our life.
When we think, we actually use our memory to decide or solve a problem.
We look through our past experience or somebody else' s experience to make a decision.

Prove?
We walked on the road and saw a cute dog. The first thing come to our brain is 'oh.. how cute! It was a nice dog.' Suddenly that cute dog ran to you and tried to bite you.
You were surprised and you store this incident in your mind.
The next time you walked on the road and saw a cute dog, you will be cautious and not going to be so friendly'.

What happen if one day you lose all your memory? Accident, illness, near death experience can happen to anybody.
That's why all human is equal, not one person is more superior than the other. Everybody deserved to be respected.

When the memory is gone, the only thing we rely on is the heart.

What is Heart?
Heart is of your being. Some people call it 'conscience'.
It is not the same with emotion. Emotion is when your thought and your heart connect and interact; it is commonly called "feeling'.
Have you ever gone through a problem in life where your thought and heart advise different solution? I have, many times.

One example:
When I married my husband in NYC Municipal building years ago, my supposed witness called at the last minute (literally, since I was already in the building) that he could not come.
Disappointment overcame me. We decided to take our chances and ask strangers to be our witness.
In front of the elevator, there was this man smoking alone. He looked dangerous with his crumpled and dark clothes.
My heart told me to ask him to be our witness. I told my husband to ask him if he could be our witness. My husband refused and said that he was scary.
He then asked many people who passed by us inside the municipal building, people who dressed to the nine, nice clothes, nice makeup, nice faces.
NOBODY is willing to help.
I finally came to the first man (the 'look dangerous' man) and asked him if he had about 10 minutes free time to be our witness.
Surprisingly, he agreed right away. His words are polite and he refused to be paid.
He just said, "it is my pleasure to help. I wish you both the best.

There and then, it is proven that what we thought is not always right.

Human has choices, we can choose to obey or ignore, follow or suppress our heart.

Will you follow your thought or your heart?
